Alex is an English Physiotherapist who arrived in Melbourne, via New Zealand in 2015. Alex has a keen interest in sports injuries and especially injury prevention screening. While in New Zealand Alex held the position of Head Physiotherapist for Northland Rugby’s provincial team, in Whangarei, for their successful 2014 campaign. During his time in the New Zealand, Alex also worked with many amateur sports organisations around Whangarei, helping with injury management education and injury prevention screening. Alex also gained valuable elite sports experience in New Zealand, spending time with physiotherapists at the Blues Super Rugby team and the Warriors NRL team. Alex currently works with Melbourne University Rugby Team and Melbourne Rebels alongside his clinic hours and is completing a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy, at La Trobe University, to further his knowledge in Sports Physiotherapy. As part of his Masters, Alex has completed placements at Melbourne Rebels in the Super Rugby Championship and AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League, where he has gained further valuable experience in high performance sports rehabilitation.
Outside of the clinic Alex is a keen sportsman and sports supporter, having played rugby union for a large part of his life up to representative level, along with many other sports. More recently Alex has turned his hand to triathlon, marathons and ocean swimming.
